Project Overview
Powercor engaged Spot On Civil to complete underground electrical infrastructure works associated with the Karinie Street road upgrade project.
The purpose of these works is to install a new 35mm 4-core underground power cable servicing the saleyards and adjoining café. Upon completion, the existing overhead power supply can be retired, allowing council to proceed with the planned widening and upgrade of Karinie Street.
Scope of Works
The works include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Locate and identify all existing underground services and assets within the work area.
- Pothole identified services to verify asset locations and confirm sufficient clearance can be maintained throughout the proposed works.
- Supply and implement all required traffic management measures for the duration of the project.
- Excavate trenches and install conduits in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards.
- Complete an under-road bore to preserve the integrity of the existing roadway and minimise disruption to traffic during working hours.
- Supply and install the required electrical pit within the asphalt surface.
- Haul and install the new 35mm 4-core power cable in accordance with all applicable auditing requirements, standards, and Powercor specifications.
- Reinstate all disturbed areas upon completion of works.
Objective
These works are to facilitate the removal of the existing overhead power supply and support the Karinie Street road widening and upgrade project being undertaken by council.
