Spot On Civil completed water main replacement works across multiple sites in Swan Hill and Kerang as part of an urban water infrastructure upgrade program.
The project involved staged pipeline construction, directional boring, property service connections, excavation, trenching, reinstatement and associated civil works completed in live community environments with a strong focus on safety, traffic management and minimising disruption to residents and surrounding infrastructure.
Works included:
- Site establishment and traffic management
- Underground service locating and service proving
- Hydro excavation works
- Directional boring for trenchless service installation
- Excavation and trenching works
- Installation of new water main infrastructure
- Property service connections
- Soil compaction and water quality testing
- Reinstatement of roads, footpaths and surrounding surfaces
- Final clean-up and as-constructed documentation
The project was delivered across multiple locations including Gray Street and Palaroo Street in Swan Hill and Burgyone Street in Kerang.
Spot On Civil utilised a structured staged delivery methodology to maintain efficiency, manage stakeholder impacts and ensure compliance with all project specifications and statutory requirements.
The Kerang component of the project was undertaken in proximity to a local school and scheduled for completion during the school holiday period to minimise impacts on traffic, pedestrians and the surrounding community.
Hydro excavation techniques were utilised where required to safely expose and protect existing underground infrastructure prior to excavation works commencing, while directional boring was used to minimise surface disruption and reduce reinstatement requirements in selected areas.
